Our forefathers traveled to this great land,

Striving to inherit freedom and following God’s command.

Fear wasn’t in their minds,

But leaving all their troubles behind.

As these dear saints traveled along,

They had to be physically and spiritually strong.

Being led by the Lord,

They stayed close by obeying God’s Word.

When problems seemed to arrive,

They pulled themselves together to survive.

A new nation has just begun,

Being established in the name of God’s son.

They prepared a mighty feast one special day,

As they bowed their heads to pray.

This new family would never be the same,

As freedom would be their claim.
