Student of the Month
Who is your student of the month? It is hard to choose just one! Our newly-elected Mayor Alisa will be highlighted as she was voted into office through the popular vote. Students had the opportunity to vote for who they wanted to represent them for the next year. We want to congratulate all the candidates and their hard work throughout the process! They did a stellar job. Let’s hear from Alisa and her new position as Stewart Home & School Mayor!
Hi. My name is Alisa and I’ll tell you how it feels being the Stewart Home & School mayor, while this is my third time getting it. Each and every time I run for mayor here at my school, I get nervous and excited, while I work and go asking around for ideas for what I should put in my speech. My put my heart and soul into into what I should say to them (the student body and the staff). They mean the world to me. Being their mayor is as important to me as life is. Why? Because for all the things they do for me and I highly appreciate for how they love me. So on that note, I would love to say my gratitudes of thanking everyone who was there to support me physically and mentally. Don’t forget to love unconditionally and to be AWESOME!

Stewart Home & School is a residential school for people of all ages with special needs. The mission of Stewart Home & School is the complete and total care of its students and the fulfillment of all their needs – physical, educational, social, vocational and spiritual. The faculty of the school program has experience with the learning styles of people with Autism, Down’s syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, and Williams syndrome, as well as other intellectual disability diagnoses. It is the objective of the school program to create successful learning experiences for all students and to consistently reinforce the students’ enthusiastic motivation for participation and further growth. There are high expectations for each individual and it is a joy to see successes celebrated each day!
