“We Love to Work!”

Stewart Home & School vocational programs offer several types of work opportunities for our special needs students, ranging from community employment, on-campus employment and volunteer positions.

Off Campus Vocational Opportunities

Students work throughout the Frankfort community, gaining real-world experience while forming meaningful connections. We’re proud to partner with local employers like Sage Garden Cafe, Frisch’s Big Boy, Dairy Queen, Hardee’s, Penn Station, and Taylor Belle’s Ice Cream. When you visit these businesses, you’re supporting both our community and our students.

We also have students who work and volunteer with organizations such as Special Olympics Kentucky, the Franklin County Humane Society, and LIFE House for Animals—building skills, confidence, and meaningful connections throughout the community.

On-Campus Vocational Opportunities

On-campus employment opportunities help students develop responsibility while building confidence and career-related skills. Whether a position is paid or volunteer-based, students take pride in their accomplishments and in contributing to the well-being of others.

Examples of on-campus employment at Stewart Home & School include roles in the laundry, kitchen, housekeeping, Health Services, central supply, and administrative offices. Students may also assist teachers in School Programs and support the Recreation Department.
