Special Olympics Softball Game: Super Special
In what was a beautiful August night turned into two beautiful victories for the undefeated Panthers team. I have not been that excited about a game since Kentucky won the National Championship. In the first game they broke open a close contest with a previously unbeaten Lexington squad to secure a 12-8 victory. In the nightcap the Panthers roared back from a 6-6 deadlock to vanquish Madison County (who they had beaten before which makes winning the 2nd time difficult.
Every player contributed in so any ways. The scariest moment occurred when Rob hit a line drive back at Coach Eddie which hit him in the face(mask) and flattened him to the ground !! He bounced back up and continued pitching!!!
I am so proud of the Panthers and their never-say-die resolve. I also proud of all our other softball teams this summer. Congratulations teams and coaches !!!! Good luck in regional and state competitions!!!
