Music and a Baseball Game

A group of musicians from the Stewart Home & School music program have been selected to sing the National Anthem at the Lexington Legends baseball game on August 26! These students participated in a tryout held at the Lexington Fayette Mall months ago and were selected as a group to start the ballgame off with the National Anthem. We are so proud of them and are thankful for the opportunity to participate in America’s favorite game in such an honorable way.

As time gets closer for the performance these students are working very hard to sing together as a small group. They are working on intonation (or pitch accuracy), blending together as a group, and articulation, or the technique which affects the transition on a single note or between multiple notes. The National Anthem has a large range and the students’ talents cover those ranges very well. The students enjoy singing together as a small group and have formed a bond through the process of growing a maturing together as musicians.

Keep up the great work! Looking forward to hearing more wonderful music from this great group.
