Hip Opening Yoga Poses - Stewart Home & School

Hip Opening Yoga Poses

Hip Opening Poses on a Monday

written by Jennifer Anderson, yoga instructor

Since it’s Monday we thought it would be a great idea to do some hip opening poses in yoga class. For some people who are more flexible, hip opening poses feel AMAZING! For some, however, this can prove to be more difficult. Some people do not have that same level of mobility in their hips, which can make hip openers a not-so-pleasant experience.
Remember, in yoga, there is no “perfection”, we’re always a work in progress. When doing any pose you should never force your body to do something it simply isn’t ready to do. Ease into a pose, it’ll come in time. A double pigeon pose might take awhile to get your alignment right, and that’s okay.
Our students are doing some super-difficult poses these days. From pigeon, to double pigeon to even grasshopper! They’re balance and flexibility has come such a long way.
Happy Monday!
