Deborah Zugar | Michelle’s Mom

Our family just celebrated Michelle’s two year anniversary at Stewart Home & School! She is an active, enthusiastic 23 year old with autism. Michelle went from not being able to go out alone in New Jersey to navigating a gorgeous campus all on her own in a safe environment. She is eager to attend all her classes. I am thrilled that she can continue to learn!  We never even owned a pet and now Michelle can’t wait to get to the barn and is thriving with her weekly equestrian lessons.

She has a private bedroom in a building where 20 lovely ladies live. Michelle participates in tennis, bowling, yoga, chorus, cheering and more.  We also take advantage of outstanding options such as private on campus speech and music therapy to further her limited language and communication skills. There are endless events coordinated by a competent caring staff. Students are continually recognized for all their achievements as their confidence and independence grows. Instead of uncertainty, the future looks bright & positive. Yes, I miss her dearly, but I know in my heart she is living her VERY BEST life in Kentucky.  As a parent, you must be brave. Putting my faith in the Stewart family has allowed me to calm fears.  I now experience life as a proud parent bragging about her accomplishments.  Stewart Home & School is a remarkable place where each resident has the opportunity to excel every day.  I did my research.  Nowhere else in the entire country offers more for your loved one!!!!

Kristen Adams | Andrew’s Mom

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible impact Stewart Home School has had on our family. Living on the West Coast near Seattle, we found very few options for our son Andrew to live in a community that could serve his unique needs. We dreamed of a living situation that could provide support while allowing him enough independence to enjoy his hobbies, grow his skills, and build relationships. We never imagined he would move across the country to Kentucky.

From the moment we stepped on campus, we felt welcomed and supported by a compassionate staff who truly understands our unique challenges. Their dedication and expertise have been instrumental in helping Andrew thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. Since becoming part of this community, we’ve seen remarkable progress in Andrew’s confidence.

Students at Stewart Home School are treated like family, and the staff connects with each student in meaningful ways. When Andrew’s teacher learned he grew up with backyard chickens and craved a connection with them, she was instrumental in helping him raise and care for a small flock of hens, which he now considers his daily vocation.

Knowing that our son is in a safe, nurturing environment where his needs are met gives us peace of mind and a sense of belonging. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful community that truly feels like an extension of our family.
