It is a pleasure to introduce to you the Stewart Home & School July Employee Spotlight – Michelle Penrod. What could be better on a hot summer day than drinking lemonade and reading a good book? The only thing that would be better is being in one of Michelle Penrod’s reading classes.

One of Michelle’s correspondents, Aaron, put it best in saying, “Michelle is so nice, and I love her so much! She is always willing to listen to me.”

Michelle’s favorite memory of Stewart Home & School is Family Weekend 2013. During the day on Friday, Anthony got up and sang “Happy Birthday” to Michelle. Anthony has always had a special place in Michelle’s heart.

When asked what has changed most since Michelle came to work here in 2010, Michelle replied that our student population seemed to be getting younger and younger. Michelle loves this. When asked what she believes has stayed the same, Michelle responded, “The love and respect everyone has for each other. It is truly wonderful to work in this environment.”

Michelle loves to cook and read in her spare time. She is especially fond of reading series books. She and her husband of 24 years, Terry, have two cats, and a basset hound (all rescue animals) and a red tail boa constrictor that is ten years old.

Michelle says if she had not come to work at Stewart Home & School she would have been teaching – explaining that she has no other career aspirations other than teaching.

We are so fortunate that Michelle chose Stewart Home & School as her career path. She brings a great deal of stability and skills to her position. We thank her today for all she does and for her love for and care of our students.

I really like this new feature. It’s hard to keep up with all the new faces when you live as far away as we do and don’t get to come up as often as we would like. Also, reading is one of our favorite things to do. We are a family of readers and like anyone who promotes reading. So, hello Michelle, the Goetter family hopes you stay around for a long time. You couldn’t find a better place!
