Employee Spotlight – Stephen Randolph
You will probably notice a new face on campus this Family Weekend. Stewart Home & School has a new Chief Operating Officer and his name is Stephen Randolph.
Stephen comes to us with a wealth of valuable experience in the areas of Finance, Health Care, Insurance and Property Management. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in accounting and economics. He later earned his C.P.A.
Stephen describes Stewart Home & School as a beautiful place filled with beautiful people and adds that he is honored to be a part of it. He continues, saying that everyone has been so nice and eager to meet him, but he is a little overwhelmed trying to remember everyone’s name. He asks for patience in that regard, which we have assured him is not a problem since all of us felt the same way when we started here.
When asked what he has learned about Stewart Home & School in his short time here, he said, “This is a special place. There is a lot of good work being done here, by a lot of great people.”
What a wonderful compliment to all of us!
When asked what he was really passionate about, he quickly answered, “family and work”.
Stephen’s lovely wife of 20 years, Carol, and their precious daughter, Makana, recently visited our campus with Stephen. Stephen and Carol adopted Makana from China and the name Makana means “gift”. What a perfect name for a little girl for whom they waited two years to bring home! (You can often spot Stephen with a coffee mug Makana made for him in 2011.)
Stephen remarks that he is excited about his new role – adding that he was most interested in this position because he likes to help people. “Wherever I can help, I want to, under Barry’s direction,” he said.
