Down Syndrome Awareness
We are celebrating Down Syndrome Awareness Month with Bill! People with Down syndrome are accomplished and take pride in their hard work and determination to learn. At Stewart Home & School, the students, including those who have a diagnosis of Down syndrome, are encouraged to be independent and be active creators in their day-to-day lives. Students have the opportunity to attend classes, without an upper age limit; to take classes focused on vocational training in which the goal may be to work or volunteer either off or on-campus; to participate in recreational and extracurricular activities; and to be as independent and self-sufficient as possible. Above all else, we strive to provide an environment where our students are embraced for being whoever they decide to be.
