We are so excited to share with you our many holiday inspired activities throughout the month of December. Stewart Home & School is ready to fully embrace the season and all the joys it brings! We kick things off by enjoying the unmistakable music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra on December 1st. We’ll also enjoy festive shows and concerts throughout the month including the Derby Dinner Playhouse productions of “Honky Tonk Angels” and “Once upon a Snowflake”, EKU’s Center for the Arts concert with the Ten Tenors, and special visits to our campus from the Frankfort Community Band and the Anderson County High School Choir!
Our chorus will be showing off their own talents out in the community twice during the month! Our students and their correspondents will also be busy the first two weeks of December shopping locally in Frankfort and at Fayette Mall in Lexington. Of course, we will be taking in the beautiful lights around central Kentucky at both the Mega Cavern’s Lights Under Louisville event and the Kentucky Horse Park’s Southern Lights.
Many of our students will also be proudly representing Stewart Home & School on our float during the Frankfort Christmas Parade, at the YMCA Christmas Ball, and on the Spirit of Jefferson Riverboat’s Breakfast with Santa.
Our religious services will also be full of amazement with temple and synagogue services (as well as a Hanukkah Party!) during the month of December and our on-campus Christmas service on the 24th. Other exciting on-campus activities will include bible study, the Elvis Holiday Show, a Karaoke Party, Christmas Carol Sing Along, Christmas Tree decorating, a visit from Santa, and a New Year’s Eve Dance where we will ring in the New Year together!
For our sports fans out there, we will also be participating in the Special Olympics Bowling tournaments, going to two University of Kentucky basketball games, and we’ll kick off our basketball season with our Blue/Gold Pep Rally. This is truly the most wonderful time of the year!
